Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One (EODGRU ONE) Details
The mission of EODGRU 1 is to provide the Pacific Fleet with the capability to detect, identify, render safe, recover, evaluate, and dispose of explosive ordnance which has been fired, dropped, launched, projected, or placed in such a manner as to constitute a hazard to operations, installations, personnel, or material. The tasking extends to all explosive ordnance, from Civil War era artillery to terrorist devices and nuclear weapons. The focus is to enhance ship warfighting abilities and survivability by integrating EOD capabilities into Fleet Battle Groups and Amphibious Ready Groups (ARG); conduct Mine Countermeasure operations; support U.S. Secret Service missions; and operate and maintain the Pacific Fleet's various Marine Mammal Systems which conduct mine countermeasures, port security, and underwater object location operations.
