USS CONSTITUTION's last cruise in foreign waters. She carries the American exhibits for the world-wide Paris Exposition, docking in Le Havre, France. She stays in Le Havre for nine months waiting to carry the exhibits back to the U.S.
1879 January 16 - While returning from France, she runs aground beneath the White Cliffs of Dover, England. A British tug eventually pulls her free.
