Symbolism of the ADBC Logo Design. The following is a description of the elements and the meaning for each: The white ghecko on the blue field is the insignia of the Philippine Department (U.S. Army component responsible for the Philippines. The ribbon on the shoulder of the ghecko is the Philippine Defense Ribbon. The four gold stars on the gold edge of the shield represent the four battle stars for the Defense of the Philippines. The seven gold stripes - 3.5 years overseas. 1941-1942 - years of Combat On the ADBC banner are also the names in gold of the islands defended by the Army, Navy, and Marines: Bataan (Luzon), Corregidor, Marianas, Guam, Wake, Midway, and the Dutch East Indies (current-day Indonesia). The ship symbol represents the Asiatic Fleet . Three blue streamers attached to the flag pole represent the three Presi- dential Unit Citations won by the Defenders.
