CDR Creighton enlisted in the Navy June 1941. His career from Apprentice Seaman spanned the normal path of advancement through the ranks of Chief Quartermaster, Chief Warrant Boatswain and Ensign to Commander. He served during all of World War II in the South Pacific and Asiatic areas on several ships. He participated in the sweep across the Pacific and the battles at Saipan, Tinian, Gwan, Peliliu, Anguar and Okinawa plus support operations at Midway, the Marshall Islands and the New Hebrides.
