Curlee played on the NAS Green Cove Springs baseball team. They actually flew to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to play the U.S. Navy team there. While in Cuba, they got to go to the original Sloppy Joe's which was in Havana and not Key West! It was frequented by Ernest Hemingway.
