TAUTOG (Duty. Officer, Barney Sieglaff) was moored at the Submarine Base, Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked on December 7, 1941. Sieglaff directed the manning of a .50 cal. machine gun. TM2 Pasqual Mignon, a torpedoman, shot down the first Japanese plane downed in the attack, the first kill of WWII.
