Pictured are Mr. Bard, Mrs. Glover, Misses Barbara, Bland and Katherine Glover and Captain Glover. The citation accompanying the medal read in part, "for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity as Commanding Officer of the USS Enterprise in action against units of the Japanese Fleet during the Second Battle of the Philippine Sea."
