This is Rita's Mother, Marguerite Valentine Rogers (Stroup). Rita was born August 11, 1943 while I was in the Pacific. Marguerite sent me letters every week up till Rita's birth, and then I didnt get any letters for nearly 3 weeks. But when I got letters again, they were filled with photos of my new daughter. I did not get to meet Rita until I got home on December 8th, 1945 but Marguerite kept me updated with new photos every week and I got to watch Rita grow up with the help of the US Postal Service & Marguerite's camera. She made sure I didn't miss much in Rita's life while I was away. Marguerite lost her battle with cancer,and passed away in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1973.
