A memorial plaque for the crew of HC 41 (HC-4) shows the names of four Sailors assigned to the squadron that perished in a July 16, 2003 helicopter crash at Naval Air Station Sigonella. The HC-4 memorial was assembled July 18, 2005 outside the Black Stallion's hangar. The plaque is attached to an obelisk, which was constructed by a craftsman in the nearby city of Catania, and painted by members of HC-4. Naval Air Station (NAS) Sigonella provides logistical support for commander, 6th Fleet and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces in the Mediterranean area.
