I received orders for River Patrol Viet-Nam, but first, I went through SERE School.
Instruction was by Fleet Airborn Electronics Training Pacific; training for incountry Viet-Nam riverine duty. Classroom instruction Coronado Island. Weapons training, Camp Pendleton (area 53/Camp Horno). Field laboratory at Warner Springs.
I got a certificate of "completion" made out to: SA LOOMIS (Seaman Apprentice). The SERE patch shown is also on the certificate. Our training also included weapons training. I may rate both pistol and rifle marksmanship awards because we trained on all small arms including M-79 grenade launchers, well beyond the 45 pistol and M-16 rifle qualifications.
