I mailed this postcard showing the "Christ the Reedemer" statue on Mount Corcovado, to my pal AQ3 Jeff Miller who was with VA-34 on the JFK. The JFK was in the MED at the time. Jeff kept this postcard for many years. He then gave it to a mutual friend who is a Postcard Collector and a member of the Buffalo Postcard Club. When I later joined the same club the holder realized that I was the sender. He returned th card to me in 2004. Thus completeing a roughly 20,000 mile and twenty seven-year round trip. The card is postmarked with a USS AMERICA cancellation. It is in great condition considering its age and all its travels.
