Memories Glenn entered the Navy in July of 1943 where he attended diesel school and was assigned to the mine Glenn entered the Navy in July of 1943 where he attended diesel school and was assigned to the mine sweeper YMS-473 (originally laid down as PCS-1443). Glenn traveled to Pearl Harbor, Midway, Guadalcanal, Tulagi, Guam, Okinawa, Korea, and many other Pacific locations. The YMS-473 received one battle star and participated in four operations during September 1945 to February 1946. Glenn was discharged from the Navy as a MoMM First Class in April of 1946.... More
