2. In Jan 1974 was home for Daughters 11th Birthday... Took her Roller Skating for her 11th Birthday and I Fell Flat on Left Side of Face and did a lot of Damage... Went Back to Ship a couple days later and reported to Sick Bay and they sent me to Portsmouth Navy Hospital for Surgery and reconstruction... Was in for 17 days...!!

9 or 10 1972 the Captain held an AWARD Ceremony on Flight Deck and presented me with the Navy Commendation Medal for Meritorious Achievement for a Job that I had done in Late Winter/Early Spring of 1972 for DCA-SAM, Specifically a Telecommunications REROUTE/RESTORATION plan that I developed in case the enemy, the North Vietnamese over ran our Telecommunications Stations during the 1972 Spring Offensive...!!

4 Month Strike and 11 Month Layoff... I did not return to the Job when called back from layoff in 1961... Shortly after in Aug 1961 the 5th Naval District wanted me back for 1 Year because of Berlin Wall Buildup. I took Letter to Recruiter and said I will take 4 more years...!!, And stayed until Retirement 5/31/1977... Should have stayed in on Active Duty for as long as they would have me...!! Never had a better JOB than my Navy Career...!!
