Crawdad eatin and ski boat parties on the Neuse River ! Nickel poker night at the BOQ. Unit dinners on the Beaufort NC waterfront. Kayaking near Emerald Island, golf at the MCAS Cherry Point course. Doing ATs at the same location where you drilled, unusual.

Flying onstation tracking (then) Soviet nuclear missile submarines over the Sea of Japan and seeing their periscopes on the surface, knowing they were trying to get a look at the P-3 that was tracking them with me in the Tactical Coordinator (TACCO) seat ! This was what all that training I did before led up to !

I consider graduating from AOCS, as it was structured in 1986-1988, as one of my primary accomplishments in life, right up there with getting my wings and graduate school. It tested me to my limits.
