Post 7327 has an active ADOPT-A-UNIT program for military units in the National Capitol region. We work with deploying units to provide going away ceremony support, family follow up during deployment, care packages, and more.
We visit the VA Hospital in Washington, D.C. where we provide entertainment and play Bingo with those who can join us in the day room and we always ensure that everyone leaves “a winner”. We also visit those confined to their beds. We have five Post Comrades who are residents of the hospital and we sponsor their VFW membership each year.
Each Thanksgiving and Christmas we adopt military families in need though the USO and provide meal baskets for each holiday, Christmas gifts for all the children, commissary cards for the parents, and a Christmas party where the children can meet Santa and receive a gift filled stocking.
VFW Post 7327 is very active in community service. Our Ladies Auxiliary members collect, sort and distribute more than 1,300 pieces of clothing each month to various needy and charitable organizations, in addition to providing cooking utensils and small appliances. Also, VFW Post 7327 is a strong and active supporter of numerous community organizations including the local Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Little League Baseball and the Adopt-a-Highway Program.
We provide moral visits to local military hospitals and the VA hospital in Washington, DC; adopt military families at Ft. Belvoir; VA who need assistance; provide care packages for the troops deployed; citizenship, flag education and history programs at local schools; and more!
Communication is important for our Post. We stay connected to 730+ Comrades and 150 Lady Auxiliary members through the website, newsletter, Facebook @ VFW Post 7327 and Twitter.@VFWPost7327.
We are a 501(c) 19 charitable organization.
