David Klein Adams, age 90, of St. George, Utah, a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully in his home at 4:48 am on Friday, February 7, 2014. Although we are devastated with grief, we are joyous with the knowledge that he is once again with family and loved ones.
He married Alene Pendleton on July 10, 1947, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple on August 24, 1977.
David served faithfully as a volunteer for the St. George Fire Department for over thirty years, answering calls at all hours of the day and night. He also served as a member of the St. George Lions Club, Elks Club, and VFW. He served in the LDSChurch in various callings and especially enjoyed his work in the baptistery in St. George Temple.
Klein enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, waterskiing, traveling to foreign countries, reading about historical and church history events and places in the US and visiting them, landscaping his home, and raising palm trees in his small palm tree farm. He took pride in everything he did, from restoring a "totaled" car to its original condition to helping his grandsons build and refine pinewood derby cars. He loved being a grandpa or "Opa", as his grandkids and great grandkids call him. He was so proud of his posterity and their accomplishments.
He lived his life with two mottos: "If something is worth doing, it's worth doing well" and "If you don't have something good to say about someone, don't say anything at all." He touched the lives and hearts of those he met. He will be remembered for his honesty, integrity, blue eyes and great smile.

Klein was born on February 18, 1923, in Magna, Utah, to Blanche Kleinman and Joseph Adams.
He was raised on a farm in Orem, Utah, and acquired his "green thumb" while working side-by-side with his 8 brothers and sisters, who he dearly loved all of his life. As a young man, he developed a passion for working hard; and with only an 11th grade education, he became a successful businessman.
He has been generous with his time and talents for his country, in the community, and in his church. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific during WWII.
