Joseph Acevedo died on Sunday, April 13, 2003, of a heart attack while working out in the gym while serving in Bahrain.  The name of this fallen sailor was not made public until December 2004.

   
Comments/Citation:


At the time of his death he was assigned as the Logistics Requirements Officer for the
Commander Logistics Force.  Joseph is survived by his wife, Yolanda, and sons, Joseph and Stephan. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery on May 6 of 2003 with full military honours.
