Details Behind Award
Meritorious service as Accountability Leading Petty Officer, at Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific, Silverdale, Washington from January 2005 to March 2008. During a unique and challenging period in the command's history, Petty Officer Tebeau guided his division through an intense period of Nuclear Weapons Accountability scrutiny. Displaying unmatched technical ability and initiative, he spearheaded the transition of the Special Weapons Inventory Management System to the Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services. As the program expert, he conducted an in-depth review and single-handily identified numerous discrepancies and areas of improvement with the software. He assisted in coordinating a joint panel consisting of Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Department of Energy, and contractor personnel in reassessing and reviewing the Navy's Non Nuclear Verification program. Due to his extraordinary communication skills, he was selected to represent the command on matters concerning Nuclear Weapons Accountability. As the command Drug and Alcohol Program Advisor, his genuine concern for his fellow shipmates and ability to mentor them on their responsibilities was instrumental in the command's outstanding success in the prevention of drug and alcohol abuse. Petty Officer Tebeau's exceptional professionalism and selfless devotion to duty reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval service.
