If Bob Donnellen was assigned to your crew for a DET you were in for a treat. Bobs hobby was cooking. Bob would always take charge of cooking and food supplies for any trips he was on. He's a quiet, non partying kind of guy who rarely left the barracks. Bob would purchase all the foods for our inflight meals, and do his preflight meal prep the night before in the barracks. These meals were truly resturaunt quality. I never met a man as talented with a hot plate, skillet and griddle. all confined in the tiny galley of the P-3B.
Bob was not only a great cook, but a top notch Flight Engineer. He made Chief before his TAR transfer to another squadron.
