Other Comments:
I met Kevin when I was an instructor and he was an aircrew student  at HC-3 in San Diego.  He always impressed me as a mature, no-nonsense type of guy.  After training he was stationed at Cubi Pt. until HC-5 was ready to commission in Guam.
At HC-5 the aircrew were pretty tight and many of us got certifed in SCUBA and dove together when the flight schedule permitted.  Kevin was always ready to have a good time, but he never took any unnecessary risks.  I can't say we were close friends but I respected him and always wished I would have gotten to know him better.
Kevin left behind a wife and a couple of small children.
