Last Known Activity

PhM3 Badyrka was serving with the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division when he was killed in action. The cause of his death is unknown; however, his unit was under fire in Saipan where they landed at Green Beach and afterward during their various troop movements. He was originally buried in Saipan. In 1948, his remains were returned to the United States for burial by his family.
