John Mason Brown was a news columnist and author. His most noted works were in two papers. He wrote drama critiques in the New York Evening Post from 1929 until 1941. He wrote the column "Seeing Things" for the Saturday Review from 1944 until 1969. He published two books - Many a Watchful Night and To All Hands - both about the WWII battles in Europe. In 1981, he was elected to the American Theater Hall of Fame.
