John Foley joined the Jesuits on 8/14/23 and was ordained a Catholic priest on 6/21/36.

He served as the Dean of admissions and taught English at Boston College from 1939 until his enlistment in the Navy. After he ws discharged, he returned to that same job until 1951. Other positions he held include Principal of Boston College High School (1951-1955); Rector of Cheverus High School in Portland, MA (1955-1961); and Rector of Xavier High School in Concord, MA (1961-1968).
