Credited with shooting down the first Japanese plane of WWII at Pearl Harbor

(Duty. Officer, Barney Sieglaff) was moored at the Submarine Base, Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked on December 7, 1941. Sieglaff directed the manning of a .50 cal. machine gun. Pasqual Mignon, a torpedoman, shot down the first Japanese plane downed in the attack, the first kill of WWII.
