Last Known Activity
WT3 Cavitt was aboard USS Indianapolis enroute from Guam to Leyte Phillippines, after having
delivered the uranium and other key components for the Atomic Bombs. Indianopolis was torpedoed by the I-58 just after midnight Monday 30 July 1945. Two of the six torpedo spread found their marks, and She went down in about 12 minutes.
