 Additional Information
Last Known Activity
Lieutenant Commander DuTemple was a pilot of an AD-4 Skyraider dive bomber with Attack Squadron 195 aboard the aircraft carrier USS PRINCETON (CVA 37). On July 11, 1952, while on a strike on Pyongyang, North Korea, his aircraft was struck by enemy ground fire and crashed. He was listed as Missing in Action and was officially presumed dead on June 4, 1954.

Lynn was my grandpa. He died long before I was born, but I grew up with pictures and stories of him. I wish I knew him. Though I never knew him, he is very much a part of me.

My grandfather, William Trebilcox, used to tell me stories about my great-uncle Lynn, his brother-in-law of whom he was extremely proud. From my grandfather, I knew that the twin brother of my grandmother Ellen was a tremendous fighter pilot. It was only when I was older that I came to understand how great he was. I think about Uncle Lynn especially when I visit the Korean War Memorial in Washington, D.C., which is not too far from my present home in Virginia.
