Last Known Activity
SFC Biddle Carrol "B.C., Jack, Izzy or Buzz" Izard, Jr. was killed on 19 June 1968. SFC Izard was assigned to the 45th Military Intelligence Company, 528th Ordnance Detachment, 519th Military Intelligence Battalion (Field Army), 525th Military Intelligence Group, Combined Material Exploitation Center (CMEC), Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MACV), Saigon, Republic of Vietnam. CMEC was tasked with the responsibility to examine, evaluate, and classify captured enemy material. SFC Izard was killed in the afternoon when a dud RPG-2 (B-40) rocket exploded. The team was in the process of loading a 2 1/2-ton truck with captured enemy ammunition at Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Saigon, Long An Province, Republic of Vietnam. Three other men were helping to load the truck at the time of the accident.
