Casualty at Sea

The USS Chesterfield County was an LST-542-class tank landing ship and operated on the Brown Waters of Vietnam in 1966 and 1967. It carried supplies through the Mekong Delta including troops, ammunition, tables, chairs and construction supplies. On June 27, 1966, SN Arthur Keen was serving on the Chesterfield County when he was lost overboard near the mouth of the Saigon River in Gia Dinh Province, RVN. SN Keen was drowned in the incident.
