 Additional Information
Last Known Activity

Lieutenant Commander Hogan was a member of Attack Squadron 112, Carrier Air Wing 11 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63). On January 21, 1967, he was the pilot of a Douglas Attack Aircraft Skyhawk (A-4C) over North Vietnam when his aircraft crashed. His remains were not recovered.

While most reports and memorials have Jerry Franks Hogan at the rank of Lieutenant Commander, he was more then likely a Lieutenant Junior Grade at the time his plane went down. Because he was listed as missing and not declared dead until 1977, he was promoted at least twice while in the status of missing in action.

The information contained in this profile was compiled from various internet sources.
