 Additional Information
Last Known Activity
My Mom and Dad went to Jacksonville, FL for my Dad to "Play the Dogs" out in Orange Park.  (He really loved betting on the Greyhounds)  My Mom went because he loved it so much and would often sit and read a book while he watched the races.  He had seen his Doctor a week prior to the trip.  The M.D. said he needed to leave the office because he was in perfect health and would outlive him (The MD).  After returning from JAX he felt the onset of what he thought was a heart attack.  He was taken to Trident Regional Hospital and passed on due the first and only heart attack he ever had.  During the time he spent in the ER, NO other patients were brought in.  My Dad was the only one in the ER for over three hours
He and my Mom had been watching the movie "Ghost" on TV.
My Dad was as healthy as a horse and very fit.  It was his time.  He was survived by his wife Nancy, two daughters Charlotte and Esther, one Son William, two grand-children Lindsey (Charlotte's daughter) and Courtney (William's daughter).

My Mother lived for another seven years.  She passed away in 2000.  Long enough to kow that I had been selected for CPO but not long enough to see me wear it.  She passed two weeks prior to my pinning.  My younger Sister stood in for her.  Needless to say, it was a very emotional day for all.

Other Comments:

I started this profile on 2 Oct 2008.  My research is on going.  I have my Dad's service record and I'm still putting everything in order.  I hope to have his site complete in a week.

7 Oct 08 I have my father's duty stations completed, up to 1947.  Still squaring away the rest of his enlisted/officer service record and discharge certificates.

12 Oct 08, I have a completed adding all duty stations.  I tried to insert name, rank and title of others he served with where I could and I'm sure I'll continue to "tweek" the site.  Next step is to scan and upload some pics.
