 Additional Information
What are you doing now:
Always glad to hear from former shipmates. My wife Dorothy, of 56 1/3 years passed away May 17, 2002. We have 7 children and 6 grand-children. I began service at age 16 in the Maryland State Guard and went to camp but that life was not for me and I enlisted in the Navy the day I was 17. I lasted til discharge on Feb. 1, 1946 and I think the Navy was glad to get rid of me. I received the most unearned Good Conduct Medal in Navy history.
One of the reason I accepted the invitation to join this website is that I have been saving memorabilia of the Navy and Navy friends for 62 years. It may take me a year but I am trying to enter several photos each day that I saved and collected from WW2 which I wish to share. I also welcome photos from anybody of those three ships.
We also lost some 1200 shipmates whom I intend to list from the three ships I served on. I will do my best to get this done before too long. I now have the names and rank listed in each of my first two ship's categories.
