Other Comments:
Aboard the troop transport USS President Linclon (converted cruise liner) when it was torpedoed on the morning of May 31, 1918 approximately 600 miles off the coast of Brest, France. The ship was returning to the U.S.  after having delivered military personnel to France and was sighted and tracked by German submarine.   U-90 fired torpedoes shortly before 9 a.m causing the vessel to sink within a half hour.  689 of the 715 persons onboard survived.
