SHREVEPORT, LA -Services celebrating the life of Douglas Scott Tarter,age 25, of Kenosha, Wisconsin will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at The Salvation Army Chapel, 200 E. Stoner Ave., Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Maj. David Craddock of the Salvation Army. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Centuries Memorial Park on Mansfield Road. Visitation will be at Centuries Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Tarter was born February 11, 1982 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on November 22, 2007 in Harris, Wisconsin following a tragic automobile accident.

Doug graduated from Jim Hill High School in Jackson, MS in 2000, joined the United States Navy that same year and proudly served his country for the next seven years. Machinist Third Class Tarter was serving at the Great Lakes Naval Station at the time of his passing. Doug dearly loved the Navy and planned to make it his life-long career.

He was a quite, sensitive, caring young man who dedicated his life to God, family, friends and career. Doug had a warm smile, a giving heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. His warm smile and giving spirit will be missed by all those whose lives he touched! Doug you will be FOREVER missed and we know you are in heaven WATCHING over us now; we will see you there again one day!

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Tammy Beckham and husband Mark, Gulfport, MS; father Randy Tarter and wife Joyce, Bella Vista, AR; grandparents, Horace and Dorothy Boles, Keithville, LA and Jack and Lois Tarter, Bella Vista, AR; brother Andy Tarter, wife Angel and their children Kayleigh and Andrew, Jackson, MS; sisters Sue Ann Tarter, Atlanta, GA and Kristina Stonestreet, Gulfport, MS, and brother Joel Beckham. Also several aunts and uncles, a number of cousins and numerous friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Boles, Donald Garrett, Tom Tarter, Joe Tarter, David Tarter, Kevin Weir, Tony Weir and Jarred Weir. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Tarter, Graig Garrett, Jesse Brown and Rodney Allen, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to The Salvation Army, 200 E. Stoner Ave., Shreveport, LA 71101. Centuries Memorial Funeral Home - 686-4334
