Victor Harry "Vic" Morrow (February 14, 1929 - July 23, 1982) was an American actor whose credits include a starring role in the 1960s TV series Combat! as Sgt. "Chip" Saunders. He and two children died when a stunt helicopter crashed on them during the filming of Twilight Zone: The Movie.
Morrow was born in the Bronx, (New York) to a middle class Jewish family, the son of Jean (née Kress) and Harry Morrow, an electric engineer. When he was 17, Morrow dropped out of high school and joined the U.S. Navy. While on active duty he finished his high school requirements and upon his discharge he enrolled under the GI Bill at Florida Southern College, 1948 and 1949, where he first studied pre-law and switched to drama/theatre. Vic then moved to Mexico City and attended college there majoring in drama. He was also a student of the famous "Actors Workshop" in New York for two years.
