What are you doing now:
As of now, Nov. 2012, I have a 23 year old son, I live in Southern CA, and have been married for 24 and a half years. I am a disabled Veteran and am online a lot on my computer, either on Facebook or on this site, or regular Email. I am looking to re-connect with other former Navy friends from my duty stations and to see if we have any get-togethers or reunions. I'd like to do some catching up with everyone and see what others have been doing with their lives as well! I am fortunate to have my Dad still living and close by, and involved in my life. He is my Hero. I love animals... dogs are my favorite... I own a Maltese with special needs; is diabetic and has to have insulin injections twice a day, and who is going blind and has cataracts in both eyes due to his diabetes. He has to have special prescription eye drops for his condition. He's my special "kid". GOD is my focus in my life. I found the Lord when I was in boot camp, back in 1983 (Company K058 - Orlando, FLA - Company Commander: Roxanne Hart) when I found it "too much" for me to handle. Since then, the Lord is my Rock and my Salvation.... Whom shall I fear? The Navy "grew me up" quickly, as I went in after high school, and looking back at it all now, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was, when I wanted SO much to just go home and quit.
I used to write poetry and greeting cards and have my work published! I'm proud to say that my son has inherited that special talent from me, and all his life, he would write poetry and keep composition books full of his work. Now, he's a struggling artist, who writes his own lyrics, puts the words to music, and creates the beats, and songs and then performs onstage with his band. I am extremely proud of him! He and his band open up for big performers right now, but I know he has it in him to make it big one day!! In fact, he has a show to perform tonight (Fri., Nov. 30, 2012) in Escondido, CA where he will be up onstage, singing in the mic. I cannot express how pleased I am to write about my son's accomplishments!! Thanks for taking the time to read this.... Here are some names of service mates I served with, who I can remember off the top of my head, that I would love to get back in contact with. If you or someone you know, knows their whereabouts, can you please direct them to my page here? Thanking you in advance! Sheree.
