LEN IS MY BROTHER
AFTER VISITING THE WALL , I WROTE THIS POEM FOR HIM AND ALL THE OTHER BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED THIS GREAT AND WONDERFUL COUNTRY.
I STILL MISS HIM AND ALWAYS WILL.

HIS NAME IS ETCHED IN BLACKEND STONE
HIS NAME I SEARCHED TO FIND
A SOLDIER YES BUT SOMEONE'S SON,
SOMEONE'S FRIEND, A BROTHER, MINE.

HE DID NOT ASK IF RIGHT OR WRONG
IT DID NOT CROSS HIS MIND.
HIS COUNTRY CALLED AND HE REPLIED
AND SLIPPED INTO THE NIGHT.

AND NOW I THINK OF ALL THE FRIENDS
AND FAMILY OF THESE MEN
ETCHED UPON THIS BLACKENED STONE
THEIR SORROW NEVER ENDS.

TAKE A MOMENT IF YOU WILL
TO PONDER WHAT THEY GAVE,
WHAT IT COSTS TO LIVE YOUR LIFE
WITH SO MUCH FREEDOM EVERYDAY.

TO THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES, AND THOSE WHO RETURNED,
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
