WHO WE ARE:
Our organization is dedicated to one of the greatest warships to ever serve in the U.S. Navy. The USS Constellation served gallantly throughout four generations from Viet Nam to the Iraq War. This website is for those shipmates who served aboard her and for those family members of the crewmembers of "America's Flagship."
OUR MISSION:
The USS Constellation CVA/CV-64 Association is a non-profit organization with membership open to all officers, crew, ship’s company, carrier air group, or family member of anyone who served aboard the USS Constellation. Our mission is to assist and support association members by providing a single information source to locate former shipmates, and to provide quality activities that allow shipmates to share their common past and keep the spirit of Constellation alive.
The USS Constellation CVA/CV-64 Association is a non-profit civilian organization and receives no funding from the U.S. Government or the U.S. Navy. Statements contained herein have no official sanction or approval by the U.S. Government in any form.
OUR HISTORY:
Richard Romeo and about 53 other shipmates founded the association in March 1993 during a plank owner cruise aboard Constellation from Philadelphia Navy Yard to Mayport, Florida. This cruise commenced at the completion of a $800 million, three year SLEP (Service Life Extension Program) intended to extend the operational life of the USS Constellation. The USS Constellation was decommissioned August 7, 2003 at NAS North Island, Coronado, CA. The USS Ronald Reagan CVN-76 replaced Constellation in the Pacific Fleet and arrived in San Diego in mid 2004.
