 Additional Information
Last Known Activity:

DR. JONATHAN MERRELL ALLEN, WWII
U.S. Naval Reserve, Medical Corps

Lt. Grace Howard met Jon in Washington where he was completing a surgery internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. Both were in the thick of war efforts. Jon was always appreciative of his scholarship to Williams College, his schooling as a surgeon at Albany Medical College and the opportunities for medical training he received in the Navy.

Grace and Jon married in 1948. In 1953, he completed his surgical residency in Detroit and they returned to the city of his birth, Plattsburgh, New York, where Grace served as receptionist, bookkeeper, and manager of her husband's medical office for 30 years. Jon retired in 1982.
