Died on Active Duty with VT-23 at NAS Kingsville, TX, May 26, 1872 after traumatic injury on motorcycle after collision with automobile in Precinct 8, Nueces County, Texas, USA.

First Class Aviation Machinist's Mate (Jet), (ADJ1) James Lee Singleton was attached to VT-23 at NAS Kingsville, TX at the time of his death. He had been there less than a year. Prior to that he served with Navy Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron Three, HA(L)-3 in Vietnam 9/9/1970 to 6/4/1971.
