What are you doing now:
Currently I am on a 1 year IA assignment in Afghanistan as the Communication Division LCPO. Asadabad is located in the eastern portion of Afghanistan, just northeast of Jalalabad and near the Pakistan border.  The Command consist of 50 National Guard members from Pennsylvania and about 35 US Navy personnel (both active and reserve) from all over the country. We are responsible for all provincial reconstruction efforts aimed at strengthening the provincial government in order to win the hearts and minds of the Afghan people and to stop the insurgency.

Other Comments:
After spending over 10 years active duty as a Fire Control Technician serving in the submarine community, I decided to change career paths and pursue becoming an airline pilot. After 6 months of flight school and one year as a flight instructor in Fresno, CA, I am currently a pilot for American Eagle Airlines as well as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy Reserves. Before I was deployed, I flew the SAAB 340B Turboprop aircraft out of Dallas/FT. Worth (DFW). Due to the high price of oil and a weak economy, my airline is reducing its fleet and parking all of the SAAB aircraft. This means I will most likely be retrained to fly the 50-seat regional jets and fly out of Chicago (ORD) or Los Angeles (LAX) when I return in early 2009. My wife, Morgan, and 3 wonderful kids: Dillan (6), Kailey (2), and Joey (<1) are eagerly waiting for me at home in Portland, Oregon. I miss them greatly and can't wait to be back in there lifes again very soon.
