 Additional Information
Last Known Activity:

Enjoying my life smelling the roses, so to speak. After 30 years with the Navy, I spent 10 more years working for NISE West/SPAWAR San Diego as a government contractor.  I have been a Notary Public and Licensed Tax Preparer for a number of years. I did not renew both licenses when I retired in 2002.

Other Comments:

My wife of 40 years said it best when she tells everybody that retirement is like winning the lotto only without the million bucks. Of course, she said that metaphorically. You want to get up early in the morning because you want to, not because you have to. The only drawback is, if you get too comfortable and be lazy, you might not get up at all even if you want to. So we are staying active!!!

TO MY OLD SHIPMATES:
The shipboard life was hectic and rigid at best, working 14-16 hours a day at sea -- floating in the middle of nowhere -- and you knew very well during an extensive deployment it was an easy 6-9 month stint. We might not have spoken to one another, it might seem that we tried to ignore each other because of shipboard routines..., the fact remains, I remember that you were there. As shipmates -- your presence has made my life more meaningful, bearable and sometimes colorful. My life in the Navy is past now but its memories are sustaining me more than ever.

Because of "TWS", our children do not have to piece together stories about our Navy life. I dedicate this profile, not only to my family but to all of you out there -- my old shipmates. Many thanks for the memories. By the same token, I welcome my new shipmates. I am glad to get acquainted with you through this blog. I thank you for inviting me to peek into your historical and very personal profiles.

In this forum I tried to encapsulate and preserve the past and the present. Hopefully, the future will do justice.

Fair winds and following seas to all of us! Thank you for your service to our country.

( AS YOU WILL SEE OR HAVE ALREADY SEEN I TRY TO PUT A HUMAN FACE ON EVERYONE - - REMEMBERING THE WAY YOU WERE. MANY OF YOU HAVE BEEN PROMOTED SINCE, GOTTEN OUT PROBABLY AND JOINED THE CIVILIAN WORKFORCE, OR IN THEIR SECOND CAREERS. OTHERS MAY HAVE JOINED THE OFFICERS' RANK OR PERHAPS RETIRED LIKE THE REST OF US. WHICHEVER PATH YOU HAVE CHOSEN I WANT TO CONGRATULATE EACH OF YOU AND WISH YOU GOD SPEED.

AS FOR MY GOLDEN YEARS, WHEN SENILITY STARTS TO SET IN, I HAVE INSTRUCTED MY FAMILY TO OPEN THIS WEBSITE(TWS) AND LET ME LOOK AGAIN AT WHAT MY LIFE HAS TAKEN ME. I AM SURE IT WILL BRING BACK SOME OF MY MEMORIES EVEN FOR A SHORT WHILE.

THANKS TO TWS, MYNAVAL LEGACY IS PRESERVED. I URGE YOU TO DO THE SAME FOR POSTERITY. I THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS JOURNEY WITH ME. EVERYONE HAS A STORY TO TELL. THIS IS MY STORY AND IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED ON MY WATCH).
